In most engagements, access provision is pre-approved through security policies and regulations, established for different roles. Certain access or rights, however, may need additional approvals from appropriate authorities (as defined in Service Governance Plan). In such cases, the Service Request Handler, would ideally approach the appropriate authorities to seek approval. If more information is required by the approver, the Service Request Handler would seek the information from the user/requester and provide the same to approvers. In case the request is rejected by the approver, the Service Request Handler must update the log with approver’s comments/reasons and inform the user on the same.
